In addition to proper cleaning and calibration we replace any off spec parts (which will happen naturally on a 30 year old device). The modification I do adds 3 newly installed front panel controls which allow for full adjustment of expansion vs. compression of each low, middle, and high band. Although the ins/outs are RCA, the 3BX has no trouble handling +14 dbm. This device is probably the only 3 band expander/compressor available on the market. On a mix, one could expand the highs to zip up the clarity and reduce noise, while compressing the bass end to add thickness. Re: International Shipping: We ship internationally often and have yet to encounter a problem or complaint. We are very careful to test the equipment before it’s packed and then to double box the machine with added protection when needed for front panels, etc. We are not amateurs or an ebay store; we know these machines very well and know what it takes to get them to you safely. We use USPS priority internationally which seems to be the cheapest. If you prefer another carrier (you should know who delivers to your area reliably) please let us know. Small half space rack unit. Modified by AudioPro- now with a lower noise power supply and a more subtle and musical sounding second order harmonic distortion circuit. Very nice for giving a "tube edge" to analog sound. Unit does second harmonic distortion, adding harmonies to presence frequencies. RCA ins/outs. Can do semi-pro +4dB.
*** We left the listing up because we repair these, and did have parts/units to sell. These were very interesting products for the era. The SP1 were very strident and difficult to mod or fix for modern use and now require very rare parts for any repairs. A better product that works in a similar way is the later version Aphex Aural Exciter type A, B, etc. which has a much nicer sound, is more adjustable to be more euphonic 2nd harmonics enhancement device. Without a doubt, better for vocals and acoustic instruments. We also modify the Aphex to be more nuanced in their operation. However, we will attempt to fix your SP1 if need be, but tough to get parts. You are welcome to call.
