Behringer B-2 Pro Mic (Rev 6)
Dual diaphram, Omni, Cardioid, Figure 8, Large Diaphram Condensor Microphone with shockmount and case. Rev 6 Modified with faraday sheild in front end, enhanced front end ground, output coupling cap mod, and power supply mod/noise spec. This Mic is incredible for the price, A/B'ed against a U87, it sounded cleaner! Burned in, QC'd, minor upgrade, hand chosen for top flight audio, this is a remarkable microphone when cherry-picked.
A note on B2 Pros and mods:
The newer version B2 (being sold in stores now), although still a good mic, is not the same as the original -- I can't do all the same clever mods. The circuit is less complex and changed with surface mount parts, so you can't easily get inside the capsule cage (Behringer probably did this because people were reusing the capsule).
Also, be aware that this is a very high sensitivity mic and only works well with smart, proper use. It's got astounding dynamic range and bandwidth, but ironically it's almost too good for average home recordings, because it picks up every detail.
Currently there are other mics coming out, particularly from CAD, which are basically the same design and ultimately cost the same as a modded B2 Pro. I'll still mod the older ones (with full size parts) but new mic prices are now more competitive and can be a better bet. Call us for advice on choosing the right mic for your needs.
