Audio Proz Inv #: 27297

Mixing console with manual and heavy duty road case. Unit has excellent cosmetics. 23 Mixing Channels (1 channel needed for parts), 8 channel bus. Thoroughly cleaned, calibrated, and serviced (smooth faders, clean pots, upgraded power supply, etc). Channel 1 has been robbed for a few controls otherwise the machine has been restored to excellent condition with many OP Amps, wires, and grounds replaced. The unit has seen very little use time because it had an early failure of cracked soldering at the bus board connectors. In fact we have resoldered all bus board connectors at all bus board connectors at this point. As well, replaced many op amps to reduce the noise floor and improve RF sepression.

In deed, in this era, certain 5532 Op Amps were worse or better depending upon their actual use in the circuit. Specifically, Texas Instrument 5532s provided a better noise floor than the original Signetics type. This is a rare case were certain Op Amp types can make a significant difference. Cosmetics and mechanics of the board are in 90 point condition. Improvements on the power supply , capacitors, etc have been done. In all honestly, normally these boards are known to age badly but this unit has not seen any serious use time so it cleaned up well. My only reservation is the gain control pots on the mic pres on these English designs like Allen Heath, TAC Scorpion, Hill, and Soundcraft as well as many others of this design type had slightly noisy gain trims due to DC off set in the Mic/Preamp gain stage. This is a common problem with all of them and easy to work around. In fact, some engineers do not even notice. This boards have the English sound, somewhat warm and a little soft in the dynamic range due to mostly passive circuit parts in the filters for equalization.
