More Questions About ADA MP1

(Ask Vince)

Q) How does the ADA MP1 Classic model compare to the modded MP1's? Do you repair them? Is the ADA foot controller the way to go with these?

A) The Modified ADA are changed to sound less "metal" on too many programs and more control is available to enhance regular electric and acoustic guitar sounds, but it still can do the “buzz saw” metal sound no problem. The MP1 is a device which obviously intends to use the tubes to create the nice “crank”. The “Classic” versions add some minor features and have been claimed to be less overdriven but slightly thinner sounding.. To be honest I know the MP1 intimately but have not used the “Classic” much. Years ago a I compared my modified ADA MP1 to a Classic which does sound similar in many ways but the modified ADA was more programmable to be euphonic for a mediocre player like me. (It’s more forgiving in it’s sound character distortion when I fumbled chords). To be honest I use a Behringer V2 Amp more because it just has more accessible sounds which work well with cheap guitars, dead strings. It’s all bizarre. I think any of these devices have enough accessible programming to do what is needed. Obviously the market demand has proven that.
