Actually some model numbers are virtually the same except slight cosmetic (color) or historical change, or a top bracket mount is slightly different. Once the actual look is the same then it is the same motor. It is true that sometimes the motor rotor develops cracks and can have weak torque.

The design of three way Q series speakers used various versions of woofers with different cone colors, but functioned the same. However the crossover designs can be different from cabinet to cabinet. As well as different variations of midrranges and EMIT tweeters. Worse yet the same part number can exist on the back of the magnet on these woofers yet be a different cone look, and have either foam or rubber surrounds. We often now substitute with a good 10” woofer that will work well and tune for deep bass. Additionally the crossover design often is not the same as the known published Infinity schematic. In almost all cases the crossover filter for the midrange driver should be updated with a sharper filter to reduce low/midrange frequencies from over-driving the midrange.
