FYI: A common problem is that the grease on these machines becomes dry wiht time and freezes the pinch arm and tape lifter mechanism. Unfortunately, this requires a major take apart and removal of the auto-stop switches, capstan plate, etc. To oil the pivots. The pinch arm will feel practically welded to the axel and special cutting oils and heat are required to soften the grease and allow assembly to come apart. When they get like this they should really be worked on by an experienced tech.
