There's a service trick to accomplish this. Most people send the unit in. Right now, we have idler assemblies only for in shop service fixes. Typical repair is $200 and usually includes return shipping. Nakamichi did not make this complete machine. The transport is cybernet and is very good. But the installation of this transport is slightly incorrect and not sufficiently aligned in place to allow perfect calibration of head. We have been fixing this stuff for 30 years.
