A note on AR turntables:
We have had many customers write in asking about original version XA AR turntables. We rarely have any complete ARs, because we usually break them for parts - they are worth more in pieces than as complete units. Be aware this design has a number of faults that prevents these from being true audiophile turntables. The original arm cannot track a good quality cartridge (too much friction) and the arm is also too heavy, so that only a basic 2.5 to 3 gram tracking force low compliance design stylus can be effectively used. A modified AR with a new arm, dampened chassis and other mods can be nicer than some more expensive units, but there are plenty of better vintage Japanese turntables that can be had for around $200, that will simply work better with modern quality cartridges. I mainly deal with well-done technology that stays calibrated and is reliable and easy to fix, and most of my customers want a turntable that has auto-return, pitch controls, hinged dust covers, etc. AR were amazing for their brilliant suspension design, but the archaic arm design and motor rumble noise holds these units back unless they've been modified. I am happy to continue to supply parts for these turntables, and if requested I can explain how to modify the arm and suspension to be usable with a better cartridge.
Later version AR ES-1 turntables are superior turntables and the arm is excellent and not to be changed out! Only a correct cartridge type should be installed.

Condition: #8 These levers are in (oddly) high demand at the moment; maybe this is because in 1219s, the grease has a tendency to freeze up in the speed mechanism, causing people to force the lever and often the "elevator" finger into the step up speed selector (which can also break). The elevator finger is a gray metal piece with a half inch "finger" sticking out. The price for that part is $16. Inquire for more details. (Send us a picture of your leaver, so we can be sure to supply the correct part, 3 variations of leavers exist and these are now selling for $22 to $34, it's the demanded Dual part.)

Re: International Shipping: We ship internationally often and have yet to encounter a problem or complaint. We are very careful to test the equipment before it’s packed and then to double box the machine with added protection when needed for front panels, etc. We are not amateurs or an ebay store; we know these machines very well and know what it takes to get them to you safely. We use USPS priority internationally which seems to be the cheapest. If you prefer another carrier (you should know who delivers to your area reliably) please let us know. Also please be aware of any tariffs that you may be responsible for upon pick up on your end. International shipping may be expensive but we will make sure it is not a headache on top of the cost.
